Is it the weekend yet?

Is it sad that it's only Tuesday and I'm already ready for the weekend? Mostly, because Cole and I are flying to Colorado to see little baby Cameron...and everyone else of course :)
I am kind of nervous about flying alone with Cole as he's in that stage where he doesn't want to sit still and is into everything, so me by myself is a little scary. We really wish Nick could come with us for this trip but it just wouldn't work out this time.

Speaking of getting into everything...I had the fridge open for a second and he's already into the carrots. Yes, my camera was sitting right there so of course I had to take some pictures.

I'm guessing that Cole is not the only one year old that is like this, but I swear that Cole could care less about all his new toys he got for Christmas and his birthday, all he wants are phones (the real ones, he's not fooled by the fake ones), remotes (the real ones, he's not fooled by the fake ones), TV's, DVD players and computers. He will spot a complete stranger at a restaurant with their phone out and become best friends with that person just to get their phone. Cole will even take a phone and put it up to his ear and say, "hi, hi, hi, hi". Well, actually it sounds more like "eye, eye, eye".

Last...Cole has always loved when we sing to him and now it's getting so fun because he can participate when we sing. The video below shows what I'm talking about. :)

You are probably already in CO... but, we let the kids have lollipops on our flights... but they had to sit on our laps or they didn't get it. The sucking helped their ears pop and it took them quite a while to finish the lolly.

Another trick that worked was a new book. We'd spend time on each page talking about the pictures and making up songs about the pictures. The key is keep him engaged so he won't want to get down and walk around.

I was always exhausted by the time we got to our destination... but that's the life of a Mom with a toddler on a plane.

Good Luck and PLEASE give Cameron a big wet schmacky kiss for us.
